Your Friendship with God, is it One-sided?
Is your connection with God a true friendship? I read this quote about friendship: a friendship is a reciprocal relationship between two people who share a bond of mutual affection. Friends know and understands each other, likes each other, have shared interests, wants to spend time together, helps and protect each other.
All the above descriptions of friendship are some of the attributes of God. In other-words, God is fulfilling His side of the relationship, are you? When this thought came to my mind, I had to do some introspection. As John 15:13 says, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down His life for His friend.”
Is your friendship with God one-sided? Is God the one that’s always doing and you receiving? There are expectations attached to the fruitfulness of our friendship with God. For our relationship to be balanced, we have a part to play. Understanding what is required of us is of utmost importance. Psalm 119:33 & 34 says, “teach me, O Lord, the way of Thy statutes; and I shall keep it to the end. Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart.”
Children of God, for our friendship with God to be successful, love and faith has to be its foundation. “This is My commandment, that ye love ….,” John 13:12. “For without faith it is impossible to please God …., Hebrew 11:6.
God Bless.
