Who’s Your Head?
In 1 Corinthians 11:3, the Bible says, “but I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of every woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.” If I should ask you my friends, who is your head, what would your answer be?
All of us are familiar with the Apostle Paul. In 1 Corinthians 1:1 he wrote, “I Paul called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ, through the will of God ….” Hence his statement in 11:1, “be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.” I made mention of this to solidify my original question, who’s your head or who are you following?
The divine government of God starts and finishes with a Head. Head signifies Dominion, Leader, Master, Ruler, Chief, a person we give account to. In every area of our lives, there’s a head over us. The word head in 1 Corinthians 11:3, is metaphorical and actually means priority in role and function. Similarly, as our physical head operates and directs our body, there is a Head that leads our physical head.
“Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey ….”, Romans 6:16. Many of us verbalize Christ as our head but He is not. Take an introspective look into yourself today and if God isn’t the Head of everything in your life, make Him the Head today.
God Bless.
