When the suffering is great- the glory will be greater

Good morning beloved friends

I just want to remind you today of these two things:

  • All suffering in a believers life works for a great purpose

  • If God allows any situation in your life it will work for his glory and your good

If we study the word carefully, we will realize that all the biblical "giants" went through a season or seasons of suffering before great purpose was birthed.

So quit asking yourself, what am I doing wrong? If going through a season of suffering or affliction -

There is something great ahead for you and God will have his greatest glory in your life for only he could have brought you through into such a "large" place.

Amen

Let's look at these these verses:

Psalm 66:10 - 12

10 For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.

11 Thou broughtest us into the net; thou laidst affliction upon our loins.

12 Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place

These words clearly define the purpose of suffering and affliction - to refine us as silver is refined (through the fire)

Some of us may be invoking the presence of the enemy when it is clearly God that ordered the test. The affliction however may involve the enemy, but in a Christian's life, please note that because we belong to God, the enemy cannot just have his way, he first has to ask God for permission. See details in the story of Job.

The examples of suffering and then promotion is detailed in so many examples in the bible. Here are just a few:

  • The crucifixion came before the resurrection in the life of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ

  • The "pit" came before the Palace in the life of Joseph

  • Job lost everything before being restored to greater

  • The three Hebrew boys walked through the fiery furnace before being promoted

  • Daniel thrown into the lion's den and then the King made a decree that all should serve Jehovah God who kept Daniel from being killed

  • David had to run for his life and hide in caves after being called into position and anointed by the great prophet Samuel. We see the writings of King David for many generations later bringing encouragement to many and the establishment of True worship in the Kingdom after his sufferings

So dearest friends if you're suffering today ....you're in good company

Be assured something good will come from these experiences you're walking through

Amen

I was reflecting with someone I have been mentoring recently and though her situation has been somewhat "tragic" we realise that she has grown so deep in God and her roots have grown so deep in his love. God has even now downloaded powerful mantles of intercession upon her -she is walking in purpose. Let us all pray for Elizabeth she has a made-up mind to glorify God.

And so my friends be encouraged.

Something good is coming from all you have or are walking though

The greater the suffering is the greater the purpose and the greatest way that God will be glorified

Amen

Walk good in Christ

My friends

Till we meet again

Pastor J
