What is your true Character by Minister Owen Mitchell

Inspiration

What is your true Character?

Saints of God, while praying yesterday with a team of intercessors, I found myself praying about our character.

How many of us compromise our Christ-likeness so as to fit in or to be a part of a group? This question was in relation to the Halloween celebrations that’s happening all around us. Is our stance with respect to Christianity watered down because of the fear of being ridiculed? We still dress our children up, even though modestly, so they will not feel left out. Is this you?

The thought also of us being in the workplace and so as not to be scoffed at, we indulge in their Halloween celebrations. I hear the Lord saying through me, “is this what Christianity is about?” John 17:15, “they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world,” meaning, we should not be following the values, beliefs and conduct of unbelievers. 1 Corinthians 11:1, “be ye followers of me, even as I am of Christ,” Paul said. What is your true character?

Our character as Christians should be that of Christ Jesus. Character is defined as strength of moral fiber; it speaks of the excellence of our moral being. I read it this way, “as the excellence of gold is, it’s purity and beauty, so should the character of man be portrayed.” Our character speaks to our disposition, thoughts, intentions, desires and actions. Ask yourselves this question, what would Jesus do in this or that situation?

Joshua 24:15, “and if it seems evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve ….”

God Bless.
