These words written by Pastor Opeyemi truly rang home to my heart.
WHAT PEOPLE "SAY" ABOUT YOU "STAYS" FOR A WHILE BUT WHAT GOD "SAID" ABOUT YOU ECHOES ETERNALLY.
What stopped me from being an effective minister for many many years? I cared too much what others said about me.
The greatest attacks I faced from the enemy was the scourging of tongues and the vilification of my character, especially from those within the body of Christ.
You see I didn't fit into their molds of tradition at all....a real woman with real issues, who had big faith, the greatest love for God and God's mark for ministry on her life.
God himself took me up mentored me and taught me everything I know. No man or woman can take credit for doing so. Though I cried out many days and nights for God to send me a Spiritual Mother and Father because I had a deep root of rejection. While in "training" and "growing" me, God sent people to stand with me and pray for me at different seasons and I will not forget them. God bless them richly.
It was God himself who did that deep work of preparation, sanctification and refining through fire. I have no bitterness towards anyone ....the rejection served God’s purpose. God did not want me to get attached and dependent on Men and Women, he wanted me to look to him for ALL. God wanted me to gain my strength, provision and sustenance from HIM. Yes, he would send individuals to bless me, but I began to realise if at any time I became too dependent on them emotionally or otherwise, he would change things so my focus remained on him and him alone.
I never fitted into the molds of MAN MADE TRADITION and I had many failings, though I functioned in the power giftings( because of the particular calling on my life and I learned the principle of fasting and prayer early in my walk). The words spoken by others would sometimes wound me -
Not good enough
She can't
She will never
She not ready
They did "stay" for a while because most viewed me by my failings and faults, not with agape love or how God saw me..some of us at different stages may be "Peters" or "Diamonds in the rough".
Some of the individuals I had experiences with in Church Circles would even attempt to curse who God had called his own and blessed. I realise if we have a call for ministry we will go through this process of breaking and humbling
Psalm 66:8 - 12
8 Bless our God, O peoples,
And make the sound of His praise be heard abroad,
9 Who keeps us among the living,
And does not allow our feet to slip or stumble.
10 For You have tested us, O God;
You have refined us as silver is refined.
11 You brought us into the net;
You laid a heavy burden [of servitude] on [a]us.
12 You made men (charioteers) [b]ride over our heads [in defeat];
We went through fire and through water,
Yet You brought us out into a [broad] place of abundance [to be refreshed].
Some call me a stalwart now, but I learned some principles that I will share with you here:
1 Never allow man or the enemy to limit you, by the things they say about you. Listen carefully to what God said and move out in full faith whenever God speaks (get confirmation though and check with those you make yourself accountable to) ...YOUR ACTIONS MAY NOT PLEASE MANY IF IT REALLY IS OF GOD
2 When challenged, do not draw back, be more determined to accomplish Purpose and Destiny and give God glory
3 When you are feeling the worst that is when you need to remind yourself of what God said, speak it aloud, be determined to have and do what he said and continue speaking God's word, which is what stands eternally and what stands in the heavens concerning you and therefore must manifest itself in the natural (in God's timing)
4 There is a spiritual strength gained in learning to truly bless your enemies, to bless those who curse you and pray for those who persecute you. This must not be done as a religious ritual but must truly come from the heart. This is automatic if One's heart is governed by God’s Agape love. When you bless your enemies it frees you completely as you let go of any and all thoughts of revenge and leave things to God - no curses will "stick" at all. Looking back I can actually see that many of the curses they tried to inflict on myself and my children came upon their own heads. Not because I desired it so, but just because there is a spiritual principle involved when one moves into attempting to curse who God has blessed.
Get to the place of knowing God intimately, find yourself in him and know what he said about YOU it will make all the difference in the world. You will become immovable and unshakeable rooted and grounded in his love.
Perhaps you need prayer in this area. Send me a message or leave a comment.
Abbah Father
I pray for all reading this message, that you would cause them to know the depth and height of your love for them, that you would cause them to have deep revelation knowledge of who you called them to be and all you said concerning them. Move them from the old into the abundant life in you as governed by your word and your will
In Jesus name
Amen
Walk into all that God said is yours
Walk Good in Christ
Till we meet again
Pastor J
