We will know in part until that which is perfect has come by Marcel and Jacqueline Bruff

We know in Part, til that which is perfect hath Come

As young and zealous as I was I did not understand that God is an eternal being therefore his knowledge is infinite and eternal.

(1 Corinthians 13:9) For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known

Today I will look at verse 9 through 12 of chapter 13 in the first book of Corinthians.

The Old Testament compliments the New Testament

The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law (Deuteronomy 29:29).

There are still great mysteries concerning the Lord and the nature of things, and also the future of things. One of the most important “secret” things in these end times is the exact time of the second coming of Christ. Only the Father knows. While we don’t know when that will be, we are to always be ready (Mk 13:37).

"The things that are revealed" are for us, our children and our children's children.

Inside the entire Bible is the timeline of the “things revealed.” We should take great care going outside of it for revelation because even true prophetic knowledge must be tested by the Word of God in Scripture.

"...but the things that are revealed belong to us"...

Anything that God has ordained to “belong to us” is ours to steward. There is an abiding principle that God has included into the world that says each one must make the most of what he or she is given. This is good stewardship.

We will be judged on the great day according to this principle (Lk 19:11-27).

"...and to our children forever,”

We are responsible to pass on what God has revealed to our children, to “bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord” (Eph 6:4).

“...that we may follow all the words of this law.”

God desires obedience from us. When he reveals his will, he expects us to live accordingly.

My personal opinion is we are in a sinful and broken world and because of this God cannot give certain information yet.

"When that which is perfect comes, then that which is in part shall be done away." (1 Corinthians 13:10)

This is why it was necessary to remove Adam and Eve from the garden of Eden quickly before they ate from the tree of Life in their sinful unredeemed state.

When Jesus Christ returns he will clarify much of the misconceptions and religious errors. In the meantime study the ‘part’ that we have been given to show ourselves approved.
