We have heard it said many times, “you cannot understand what I am going through because you have not experienced it for yourself.” Some reading this may say, that is a true statement but is it?
My wife testified once of her having a terrible time during sleep. Battling with the enemy to the point of being exhausted. After waking up at one stage, she heard me praying, warring for her. Concluding, while she was fighting in her sleep, I was praying. While leading a Church service one day, I felt a sudden urge to speak to a dear sister. With that urgent desire came tears, travail, it was like I could actually feel the pain she was experiencing. I then told her through the leading of the Holy Spirit the things that’s hurting her. Are we connected?
In Acts 21, the apostle Paul was informed twice, once in verse 4 and again in verse 11, not to go to Jerusalem. In vs. 11 Agabus, “…. took Paul’s girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said …. So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the gentiles.” Again, are we connected?
In 1 Corinthians 12, the apostle Paul spoke and listed the various gifts the Holy Spirit offers. The common denominator in the two verses in Acts 21 was the Holy Spirit, and is the common denominator in us being totally connected to each other. Our connection to the Holy Spirit leads to the manifestation of the Spirit hence our ability to sense, to feel, to experience one another’s pain.
The question is, are we connected? Yes we are! Christianity has united us and made us one through the Holy Spirit.
God Bless.
