Posing a question - will it ever be easy to wait on God’s promises?
For me that is the area of my life that requires the greatest grace.
Here are two scripture verses that should encourage you:
Hebrews 10:36 AMP
For you have need of patient endurance [to bear up under difficult circumstances without compromising], so that when you have carried out the will of God, you may receive and enjoy to the full what is promised.
Isaiah 40:17
But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him]
Will gain new strength and renew their power;
They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun];
They will run and not become weary,
They will walk and not grow tired
To expound on this a bit I have used an adaptation below:
The prophet Isaiah uses wings like eagles in the same way, attributing the great characteristics of eagles to those who remain faithful to God and look forward to their heavenly reward. The phrase mount up is a translation of the Hebrew word ˈalah, which means “to go up, ascend, to go up over a boundary.” Isaiah is communicating the promise that God will provide renewed strength and courage to overcome obstacles, if Israel would only have patience and trust in the Lord’s sovereign timing.
Upon reading Isaiah’s words, perhaps Israel recalled what God had said to them long ago as they fled Egypt, about how the Lord had delivered them “on eagles’ wings” with His great strength and power. Isaiah tells them that they, too, could have access to such deliverance. If they remained faithful to God, they would soar.
Christians today can apply the principle of Isaiah 40:31 by trusting in God’s sovereignty and waiting faithfully for Him. “We do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day” (2 Corinthians 4:16). God in His grace will provide power, strength, and courage to the weary, weak, and downtrodden when they are willing to be patient and wait on Him. God will cause us to mount up on eagles’ wings.
(End of adaptation)
Now the scripture verse in Hebrews speaks of endurance, but the endurance is not just unfulfilling endurance. The endurance is for a season and ends with something wonderful -GOD'S PROMISE in the particular area that you are waiting.
I encourage you today and assure you that God is coming through for you in a big way, in proportion to the degree of pain you have borne and also your length of wait. Trust him.
It makes a difference if one waits IN God instead of just ON God. He will satisfy every longing of your soul and grant us the desires of our heart as we delight ourselves IN HIM.
I pray today for turnaround in those situations for which we have waited long and the grace for us to endure where we need to endure
Consider these words
2 Peter 3:8
"But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.”
He IS faithful and is not slack concerning his promises (2 Peter 3:9) or intentions to bless his children with the abundant life ie...every single area of our life
Amen
Walk good in Christ
Till we meet again
