Good day my friends there is a great need for this type of prayer at this time - Intercessory prayer. Have many become lovers of themselves? Bombarding heaven with endless requests for money & material things. I pray God will stir in us a passion about the things that stir God's heart, after all he is concerned about the lost, the dying, the broken, the needy, the widows and the orphans. We can make a difference in someone else's life because we are our brothers keeper. We will be stirred to pray like never before and God is indeed pouring out mantles of intercession.
2 Chronicles 7:14
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land
If we pray indeed the world will change, our communites will change and the very people around us will change
So what does it mean to intercede - it means intervening on behalf of another and I would add for no merit or reward.
True agape love will stir us to pray on behalf of others.
Our Intercessory prayers do make a difference, look at this example:
Exodus 32: 7 to 14
7 And the Lord said to Moses, “Go, get down! For your people whom you brought out of the land of Egypt have corrupted themselves. 8 They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them. They have made themselves a molded calf, and worshiped it and sacrificed to it, and said, ‘This is your god, O Israel, that brought you out of the land of Egypt!’ ” 9 And the Lord said to Moses, “I have seen this people, and indeed it is a [b]stiff-necked people! 10 Now therefore, let Me alone, that My wrath may burn hot against them and I may [c]consume them. And I will make of you a great nation.”
11 Then Moses pleaded with [d]the Lord his God, and said: “Lord, why does Your wrath burn hot against Your people whom You have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand? 12 Why should the Egyptians speak, and say, ‘He brought them out to harm them, to kill them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth’? Turn from Your fierce wrath, and relent from this harm to Your people. 13 Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Your servants, to whom You swore by Your own self, and said to them, ‘I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven; and all this land that I have spoken of I give to your descendants, and they shall inherit it forever.’ ” 14 So the Lord relented from the harm which He said He would do to His people.
Something amazes me about this story in verse 10 God offers to make of Moses a great nation, but Moses doesn't think of himself, he petitions God for mercy for the people
I pray God will stir us into deeper depths of Intercessory prayer and that he will pour out such power on us as we pray without ceasing. May we pray concerning his heart as he desires none to perish but all to repent and have eternal life (2 Peter 3:9)
Abide in his presence - "inhale" and "exhale" ie. Pray with his power
Amen
Have mercy good Father, have mercy on us our families, our children, friends acquaintances. Have mercy Lord have mercy
Amen
