Tranquility
A state of calmness, stillness, a sense of peace; tranquility. In the midst of all the chaos around us, this physical body needs tranquility.
I am so captivated by trees, plants, vegetation and water. I would sit for hours in the open air staring at the sea or river, even just looking at the beauty of flowers and trees. Sometimes just closing my eyes and thinking about them brings tranquility to my spirit, body and soul. I question myself for years asking, what is it about the natural that captivates me so much?
When man was created, they were placed in the garden of Eden surrounded by nature and all of God’s creation, Genesis 2:8. Verse 9 went on to say, “and out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food ….” Verse 10, “and a river went out of Eden to water the garden: ….” I was shown where we were created with a yearning for the natural and its simplicity. This state of calmness, stillness, peace was visible in the communication Adam and Eve had with God.
But sin! Because of man’s sin against God, it created a sense of instability. Now our focus has changed, we are now of a dog eat dog mentality, a hustle and bustle lifestyle. “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world,” 1 John 2:16. Sin has made our life tiring.
Saints of God, the Lord capped it off with this, THERE IS A PLACE WHERE THERE WILL BE TOTAL TRANQUILITY. In Revelation 22:1 & 2, we see a pure river of water of life, we see the tree of life and it bearing twelve kinds of fruits, and the leaves of it for the healing of the nation. Sin brought the absence of tranquility and Heaven will bring everlasting tranquility. Therefore, “…. give diligence to make your calling and election sure ….,” 2 Peter 1:10
God Bless.
