Too Much To Gain To Lose
Too many sunsets lie behind the mountain, too many rivers my feet have walked through. Too many treasures are waiting over yonder, there’s too much to gain to lose.
A statement that’s associated with great ponder, especially to the unbelievers. Too much to gain to lose? The fact is, many of us Christians have not yet grasped the true vision and meaning of this statement. “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also,” John 14:3.
Is there anything in the world that’s worth the risk of losing the most important thing of all? The thought of losing eternal life in a place that Jesus has gone to prepare for me, makes me cringe. Too much to gain to lose. The prerequisite to gaining all that Jesus have for us is believing. “But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to Him must believe that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6.
Occasional I face thoughts of losing out, losing that mansion in God’s house, losing a life of great joy. Then the contrast of torment, pain, suffering, the lack of any and everything would become prevalent in my mind. What I am left with? I am left with a choice, whether I will chose life or death. In choosing life, I realize my life has to pattern the life of the man Christ Jesus.
Meditate on these words, “Too Much to Gain to Lose” and ask yourself this question. Is my life reflecting one of great gain or one that will result in a loss?
God Bless.
