The Unrighteous Prayers
This subject can be considered very controversial, with the many different doctrines in society. It is quite alarming when a non-Christian wants to argue with you based on this subject of prayer. They sometimes say, I prayed and God answered my prayers by giving me that which I prayed for. But, did He? John 9:31, “now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth His will, him He heareth.”
I listened to a pod-caster speak of a female soccer player who retired from the sport. It is said by reporters that she suffered a career ending injury, six minutes before the end of a game. Her response was epic, she said, this proves that there is no God. This woman is an advocate for the transgenders, non-binaries and lesbians. I presumed she prayed, hoping that an injury such as this would never happen.
But, does the Lord God hear the prayers of the unrighteous? 1 Peter 3:12, “for the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and His ears are open unto their prayers, but the face of the Lord are against them that do evil.” The fact is the Lord hears all our prayers because we are all His creation. There’s a divine connection though between God and the righteous (Christians) and “the Lord is far from the wicked ….,” Proverb 15:29.
The conclusion is, if you are a sinner, please accept God today as your Lord and Savior and if you’re a Christian, continue to in righteousness and His will. Our security lies only in our relationship with Christ Jesus.
God Bless.
