The NOW faith

Writer's picture: Pastor JPastor J

Good morning dear friends

Hebrews 11:1

Begins with the word NOW

Here is the scripture verse

I am using the Amplified translation here for greater understanding

Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].

I also love the JB PHILLIPS translation of this verse

Now faith means putting our full confidence in the things we hope for, it means being certain of things we cannot see

We shall see God's promises come forth in that area/areas that we are waiting on him for.

Our waiting should be with a heart of expectancy though. Expectancy is a by-product of faith.

We should practise this:

In any area in our life that falls short of God’s best and reflects his goodness, mercy, grace, favour and wholeness, put it before him and ask him to change it to reflect his glory. Please remember God never wants us walking limping or defeated or to have anything of this world incapacitate us or cause us to be ineffective in fulfilling our God-given purpose and increasing his Kingdom.

The faith process of change involves

ASK - BELIEVE - RECEIVE

The position of receiving is one of expectancy.

We visualise God's promise being activated, we live as if it has been done, we expect that any minute now - God will come through.

That my friends is the NOW faith.

Even our very prayer stance must change because after we pray, we need to wait in God's presence for strategy to overcome in that situation. He may just say worship (walk around the walls of our "Jerichos" in perfect silence and then shout!), he may well say fasting and prayer, he may well say corporate agreement prayer. We must live strategically each day, flowing out of the presence of God, filled with his power. Amen

We walk by faith and not by sight

We walk with expectancy

We walk good in Christ

Amen

Till we meet again

Pastor J
