The Matter of Light and Darkness
In the first epistle of John chapter 1:5, John writes, “this then is the message which we have heard of Him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness.” Verse 6, “if we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not know the truth.”
Jesus declares in John 8:12, “…. I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
I had an experience the other day that God used as a teaching tool, showing me the difference between light and darkness. God plainly said, “Christians will do anything to accommodate people but is it reciprocated?” He said, “you are the salt of the world, have the salt lost its savor? Are we standing on this truth, declaring and walking in it, even in the middle of adversities?
Light embodies purity, truth, knowledge, prosperity, perfection and righteousness, depicting all the qualities of our amazing God. Darkness on the other hand represents sin and everything evilous. When Light came into this world men rejected Him and choose darkness, “…. because their deeds were evil,” John 3:19b.
We should be the true leaders of this world because we are replicas of Almighty God. Are we allowing darkness to have the power over us?
God Bless.
