The Hope of Restoration
Isaiah 66:9, “Shall I bring to birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the Lord: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God.”
Met a young man yesterday and he proceeded to tell me his story. He recalled his previous life by setting his fingers like a gun. He spoke of an area in Toronto where he lived and did unlawful things that resulted in him going to prison. Now he says he has no life, he lives in a shelter and unable to get a job; who will employ me, he remarked. He surrounds himself with drugs and alcohol to rid him of the feelings of depression and loneliness. But God!
“Shall I bring to birth…., saith the Lord. The God of Heaven the great Restorer will not leave his work unfinished. If we place our hope in Him, He will not abort or disappoint but restore. “Shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God.” God has given the Church the unction and ability to produce. He has given us the mandate to be fruitful and multiply and He will not go against His will.
God has placed us in positions so as to spread the hope of restoration that He offers through faith, just believe. This young man also spoke of not being able to see his children and he is facing deportation, but God is able to turn things around and to restore.
Whatever the challenges are today that we face God is able. If He brings you to it, He will bring you through it, just believe.
God Bless.
