Taking out the Garbage - One of my Daily Encounters with the Lord
Empty me of self O Lord, empty me of all impurities, burn out dross and carnal weakness, empty me O Lord.
Every Wednesday is garbage day. I normally put out my garbage early in the morning between 5 and 5:30am and then start prayers at 7am. This Wednesday was no different but when I went into prayers, the Lord gave me this word, “Taking out the Garbage”. This became my prayer, praying against all the garbage in my life. Removing all the garbage from my marriage, my children’s lives, family member’s lives. Garbage in my home, garbage surrounding friends and garbage all around me.
Is there any garbage in your life? The Bible says in Romans 3:23, “for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” The amplified version says, “since all have sinned and continually fall short of the glory of God.” We continue to sin and continue to come short of God’s favor and mercy. So, daily our garbage needs to be taken out. All the filth that hinders the move of God in our lives, has to be taken out.
Saints of God, we do not hoard garbage, it causes cluster, it takes up space, it carries a stench, it is waste, things that cannot be used must be discarded. 1 Corinthians 6:19, “what? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and we are not your own?” Today, take the time to remove all the rubbish in and around us, so God can fill up those spaces with grace.
God Bless.
