Spreading good tidings

Inspiration

Spreading Good Tidings

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord has anointed me to preach good tidings ….,” Isaiah 61:1. In Luke 4:18, Jesus read to the people in Nazareth this very same scripture, after being tempted by the devil in the wilderness.

Good news and the Gospel, are some of the other words used interchangeably with good tidings. Take a minute and just think about these phrases, Good News and Good Tidings. When we think of all that is happening around the world today, our hearts welcome good news.

This good news Jesus ministered to the people in the synagogue was done in the power of the Holy Spirit, vs. 14 of Luke 4.

Whenever something good happens in our life, there is an urgency to tell somebody. Sharing good tidings is inevitable and it benefits both the hearer and the conveyer of the good news. Jesus was given the task of spreading the good news to the brokenhearted, to the captives, to the people that are bound. To proclaim the day of the Lord, to comfort them that mourn, to give beauty for ashes, to bring joy and garments of praise to people that needs it. Today we are tasked with the same directives. I pray the power of the Holy Spirit that was upon Jesus will be active in us and through us.

What the world needs today, is to hear the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The good news that saves and delivers us from all the issues of life.

God Bless.
