Spotless love by Minister Owen Mitchell

Spotless Love

As much of the world celebrated Valentine’s Day on February 14th, my thoughts about “Love” became intense. The word Love is used so casually today, undermining the whole essence of it. These days love carries baggage. You love me if you do this or that and if you don’t it’s assumed you don’t love me. But there is a level of genuineness that’s associated to love and it is foundational.

Being spotless is being without blemish, clean, pure, untainted and flawless, much like the spotless Lamb of God. 1 Peter 1:19, “but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” When we think of spotless, we think of perfection and perfection only lies is Christ Jesus.

Spotless Love; “greater love hath no one that this, than a man lay down His life for His friends,” John 15:13. “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” This is the remedy for a life of spotless love. This unconditional love can only be achieved through dwelling in Christ Jesus and Him in us.

In reflecting on “Spotless Love” I saw the homeless, the alcoholics, the drug addicts. I see the beggars and people that are mixed up in lawlessness. I also see God’s spotless love. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth In Him should not perish, but have everlasting life,” John 3:16.

God Bless.
