Repentance leads to the pathway of Life

Repentance is truly a privilege. It is not a cliche but when one can "see" themselves and "walk away" from that old man then one has truly began the new pathway of life and the life more abundantly.

All sin has consequences and as we see in the word concerning King David (though he was considered a man after God's own heart) a state of "blindness" came upon him after he had the sin of adultery with Bathsheba and subsequently arranging the premeditated murder of her husband. The other time the consequences of sin came upon him was when he numbered Israel. On both these occasions blindness came upon David, and God in his mercy sent the Prophets Gad and Nathan.

David responded with repentance, giving pen to Psalm 51.

Do you respond when God chastens you? If you never hear God's voice of correction. Then I tell you simply something is wrong with your hearing.

The first work of the Holy Spirit in a believer's life is one of conviction of sin because sin seperates one from God.

AND THEN

Repentance continues........

Here are some famous words by one of my favourite authors that has stuck with me over the years

Repentance grows as faith grows. Do not make any mistake about it; repentance is not a thing of days and weeks, a temporary penance to be got over as fast as possible! No; it is the grace of a lifetime, like faith itself. God's little children repent, and so do the young men and the fathers. Repentance is the inseparable companion of faith.

Charles H. Spurgeon

It is the simple truth. We must walk daily with repentant hearts broken before God.

I sometimes am concerned as I see the many who insist they know God, heard God and are walking in accordance to his laws and statutes and I look and they are so far way from God.

I do not judge these individuals but it motivates me minutely to pray "Lord please show me truth, keep me from error, give me truth in the inward parts. I want nothing of this world and this flesh to overtake or corrupt me Lord, permeate and saturate me with truth Lord I ask you in Jesus name."

May this be our daily prayer.

Stay on the narrow pathway my friends, it may not be easy it requires grace but with Christ you can do all things. Amen

Matthew 7

13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad and easy to travel is the path that leads the way to destruction and eternal loss, and there are many who enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow and difficult to travel is the path that leads the way to [everlasting] life, and there are few who find it.

I pray you will not be in the elect that are deceived but that you will breathe in God's truth and live and walk in truth

Amen

Walk good in Christ

Till we meet again
