"Create in me a clean heart Oh Lord, and renew a right spirit within me." (Psalm 51:10)
Repentance in Christianity means a sincere turning away, in both the mind and heart, from self to God. It involves a change of mind that leads to action—turning away from a sinful course to God. A person who has truly repented recognizes God the Father as the most important factor of his or her existence.
Repentance also means responding to God's love by being transformed in your convictions and actions. It means turning towards God and away from whatever dishonors and displeases Him.
Biblical repentance is not about your emotions, your efforts, or your resolve. It's about your total surrendering.
We only past this way once in a lifetime there is no second chance after death and therefore when anyone repents it is important in heaven, "I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance." (Luke 15:7-10)
It is of utmost importance that. One sees the value of why it is necessary to acknowledge that you are a sinner and need to repent in order to obtain salvation.
Water baptism and obtaining church membership
is not something that earns one salvation or eternal life. Repentance is a change of heart that leads to a change in behavior, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
(2 Corinthians 5:17).

I'm a new creation
I'm a brand new man
Old things are passed away
I am born again
More than a conqueror
That's who I am
I'm a new creation
I'm a brand new man.
