Catalyst: ‘Overthinking.’

WHICH INTERESTS YOU MORE-who Jesus is or, what He is capable of doing for you? I’m afraid many of us are more concerned about what He gives than discovering Who He is.

This is certainly not new and, not alarming. When Jesus walked the earth, the crowds often sought Him out for what He could do for them. Even though their needs were quite often legitimate, Christ knew their motives.

There’s a fine line between using The LORD to obtain what we want and humbly coming to Him with our needs and struggles. Sometimes issues seems so urgent in our mind that instead of submitting ourselves to His will, we’d rather pray for Him to act in the way we want Him to. Then, what might appear to be “Faith” is really a demanding spirit.

Lets be humble in our approach to prayer and our approach to God our Creator and Provider. God has never created a life…that He is not capable of providing for; in fact; we are ‘Pre-destined.’ Even in our Mother’s womb, God had and still know our purpose.

God is not a ‘Puppet Master’ and; if our prayers have dealt only with presenting our requests to The LORD, we’ve missed a great opportunity to get to know The One with Whom we will spend eternity. How much of your communion with God is truly devoted to your needs-even legitimate ones?

Are you getting to know The LORD? Do you want to know and learn how He delights in our prayers and; the details of our life? God does not need to be impressed, He enjoy our presence and want to spend time with us a loving parent and not merely a paid tutor. Change your calendar and schedule to fully accommodate your LORD and the lover of your soul, His grace.
