Topic: Mind what you say*
Scripture for the day ;Mark 6:23*
[23]He even vowed, “I will give you whatever you ask, up to half my kingdom!”
Message for the day: Words are powerful and like arrows they cannot be taken back once they are said. From our passage, Herod promised to do for his daughter anything she asked because he was pleased with her dancing. Be careful what you say and do when happy or when sad. Emotions are too unstable to determine life decisions. Our decisions shape our destiny, we must therefore not allow how we feel affect our life decisions.* Herod assumed there's nothing a child could possibly ask that would be hard for him but when he heard her request, he was heart broken. Herod gave her a blank cheque and all she could think of was the head of John the Baptist. That's how far wickedness can go. Mind what you say, you may be seeing a child but there may be a killer behind her waiting to use your words against you.* What if she had asked for half the kingdom? What if she has asked for the head of Herod himself? Do you know what “anything” means? Don't say things you won't be committed to doing.*
When angry, hold your tongue, when happy, do the same.* Many of us have made promises we never kept, vows we never redeemed and commitments we never honoured. Until your mind carefully processes it, don't let your tongue say it. An apology will not always fix the damage from what you have said.* Scriptures says he that keeps his tongue, keeps his life. *Careless talking will destroy in one day what took you a life time to build.* Tame your tongue enough to avoid saying certain things no matter how hurt you are. Married people must learn this too, any marriage where every quarrel must lead to words like, we will go our separate ways, you will return to your father's house, will soon collapse.
Words are seeds and every seed produces a harvest if not uprooted.
THINGS YOU NEED TO DO;
Mind what you say, What you say can destroy what you are building.
Prayer;
Father, thank you for grace. Deliver us from careless talking that will endanger our lives in Jesus precious name
