Meat or no Meat?
Had a conversation the other day with a friend, he is of the opinion that we are not to eat meat. He converted to vegetarianism based on the word of God he exclaimed, while presenting his case. Hence the question, meat or no meat?
I thank God for salvation, for as the word of God says in Romans 14:6b, “for he that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks, and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not and giveth God thanks.” As Paul wrote Romans 14, it is clear that these were issues surrounding the Church in Rome. Verse 7, “for none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.”
I thank the Lord for the word of God, because it is evident that as a Christian the issue is not the eating meat, it is our heart. The Christian who eats meat believes that it is God that provides and he give God thanks for it. For the Christians that does not eat meat, he believes this is the will of God for his life and he gives God thanks.
“And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin,” verse 23. Saints of God, let us not complicate the word of God but see it in it’s purest form.
