Hebrews 12 Amplified
1Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of [a]witnesses [who by faith have testified to the truth of God’s absolute faithfulness], stripping off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us, let us run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us, 2 [looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, [b]disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of His work].(A)
3 Just consider and meditate on Him who endured from sinners such bitter hostility against Himself [consider it all in comparison with your trials], so that you will not grow weary and lose heart
I am led to talk to you today about distractions.
For the enemy is so wiley and subtle, BUT GOD!
The author and finisher of our faith will cause us to finish well!
We have a real enemy and God’s instruction is we need to be vigilant and sober because the adversary the Devil, goes about seeking whom he should devour usually in the form of temptation, distraction and accusation.
Distractions come in many forms invariably in those areas that may be considered to be areas of weakness.
Those areas in our life that are being proved. Note Verse 1 above, gives us specific instruction:
"stripping off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us"
SO EASILY...take note of those words.
Each morning or I would say when I do my midnight prayers, the first thing I do after I pour out praise, thanksgiving and adoration to God, is I just surrender ALL. I can't do this by myself, I need God every step of the way.
We can depend on God, as we lead the Spirit led life.
May we operate in such a dimension in God, that even in advance, he will reveal the very plans of the enemy and he will give us strategies to overcome and keep us by his grace.
In this season, we have got to stay in position to effectively hone out everything that God has ordained, not only for ourselves, but for those whom God requires that we watch and pray for.
I pray grace and strength for you and break every distraction over your life.
In Jesus name
Amen
Walk good in Christ
Till we meet again
