May we move from the place of doing anything out of ritual or religion.
What should govern our thoughts actions and our choices, is simply the love for our Papa, our Abbah Father.
If we understand this that it was not our goodness that drew us to God, but that he so loved us that he drew us close and lavished his love, grace and care upon us, then we would simply respond with such deep love and adoration - worship.
Matthew 22:36 - 40
36 "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" 37 And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets."
As I prepared my message for this week, God brought me once again to this account of the widow's mite detailed in Mark 12. The woman gave all she had and that caught God's attention. She proved how much she loved and trusted God. She was found to be faithful.
When we come into the place of truly loving God and then being filled with his love, then it is automatic that love will overflow. There are no two ways about it, but Agape love involves sacrifice.
To extend grace and mercy where it is undeserved (as God did for us). To esteem others more highly than ourselves. To stop along the way and lend of ourselves (our time, our talents and our money) to many in need.
It is not difficult to do, we just simply wake up with our heart and minds set to be a blessing to all who come our way. We simply in life situations ask "What would Jesus do?" Our answer to that question and our actions would be etched in love - Agape love - sacrificial love
God's love, grace and mercy would be amplified in our lives as we truly live as the light and salt of the earth.
May we live each day to be a blessing "oozing" God's love
Amen
Walk good in Christ
Till we meet again
