Lord Teach Us To Number Our Days.
Today is unique and there will never be another day like today.
This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it Ps. 118:24
Rest in knowledge that yesterday was and tomorrow is promised to no one.
What is our life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes." James 4:14
The Bible encourages us to use our days wisely.
"So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom." Psalms 90:12
To number your days is to realize we are in a temporary broken world and our bodies age and will one day fade away and dies however our spirit lives forever. The consequences of our actions here on earth determines where we will spend eternity.
This means that we should set our priorities based on what is eternally important.
Our relationship with God is crucial. Jesus, who is God in the flesh, died for our sins and offers us the gift of eternal life through faith in him: "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in me has everlasting life." (John 6:47)
Another priority should be our relationships with others: family, friends, co-workers and neighbors. We should use the time we have wisely and carefully.
Let us pray,
Heavenly Father, help us to number our days, may we exercise wisdom, knowledge and understanding this day forward the many issues and challenges we ask you to protect and deliver us from the adversary.
My times are in your hand; rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from my persecutors! Ps. 31:15
Father, forgive us of known & unknown sins in Jesus name we pray amen and amen.
