Is there a Jairus' daughter in your life? By Owen Mitchell

Earlier this week when I read the story of Jairus’ daughter, the experience was as if I was reading it for the very first time. It felt so brand new! We pray the prayers and speak how our God, “….. is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,” Ephesians 3:20, but is there any faith behind these prayers, these exhortations, these teachings, these preaching?

In Mark 5:35-43, you find the story of Jairus’s daughter who was dead. This was reported to Jairus the ruler of the synagogue in verse 35. Jairus besought Jesus “…. greatly saying, my little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live,” vs. 23. Many times our backs are against the wall, we are in a valley or we find ourselves in the depths of the sea sinking. We have no where to go, no one to turn to and then suddenly, we remember Jesus and go seeking after Him. We remember Jesus and just call out His name, Jesus!

The Lord showed me three things to take into consideration:

1) His ability-”For with God nothing shall be impossible,” Luke 1:37.

2) The power of agreement- “Can two walk together, except they be agreed,” Amos 3:3.

3) Unbelief, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he that cometh to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him,” Hebrew 11:6.

“And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God thou knowest,” Ezekiel 37:3. The message was so clear to me, I pray it is to you, “….. be not afraid, only believe.”

God Bless.
