Some of us may be asking the question?
How long Lord? How long?
Some of us may just be like Martha in John 11:38
“But, Lord,” said Martha, the sister of the dead man, “by this time there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days.”
This is the account of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead.
Our situations may seem as if it is dead to the point of rotting.
Lord help stir faith and hope in us and cause us to come into your rest. Help us to be content in all!
Sometimes we can find ourselves striving for change in many situations.
We want to be healed NOW
We want to be married NOW
We want a bigger car
A house
All sorts
May we learn to accept our Today's circumstances and not live with anxiety for tomorrow
Acceptance comes from growing in trust of God. Lord help us to rejoice always, give us hearts that are contented and satisfied with your portion that you have given us for today
Let us guard against going into
Self blame and
Self pity
Because we know God is such a good Father and we just can't understand the pain of the "process" while waiting.
As our heart cries out "Doesn't God see my suffering"
Lord may you grant us the peace, grace and comfort we need for today.
The word says having done all STAND!
Ephesians 6:13/14a
13 Therefore, put on the complete armor of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious]. 14 So stand firm and hold your ground,
Standing is a position of victory. Let us know we have the eternal victory and accept our current situations. Only God can change these situations. Even as I ask myself this question. I pose it to you too....if God never answered that prayer request, would you still worship him? Begin this moment to bring him the worship that he's due in the midst of all the dirge.
Bring him the sacrifice of praise
You know this scripture but let us be encouraged by these words.
1 Thessalonians 5:16
16 Rejoice always and delight in your faith; 17 be unceasing and persistent in prayer; 18 in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus
Let us look at those verses for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. God could change that situation right now and if he doesn't he will give us the grace and strength as we walk through, waiting, trusting.
May we rest in him today and every day
Amen
Walk good in Christ
Till we meet again
