Guard your heart by Marcel & Jacqueline Bruff

Guard your Heart

All of a man’s ways seem right to him but God examines the hearts. (Proverbs 21:2)

No matter how good a person may think he or she is, it is the Lord who looks upon the heart and sees whatever sin and iniquity is within. all humans born of a woman have sin in their inner being.

“Do not pay attention to his appearance and how tall he is, for I have rejected him. For the way man sees is not the way God sees, because mere man sees what appears to the eyes, but I Jehovah sees into the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7).

After God rejection of all David's brothers, God reveals the difference between himself and the world when it comes to judging characters.

This is why we are constantly deceived by appearances. It is perfectly natural to be this way, however God’s ways are not as ours.

God finds pleasure in the man whose heart is filled with reverential awe for God.

"Now, O Israel, what is Jehovah your God asking of you? Only this: to fear God your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve Jehovah your God with all your heart and all your soul, and all your might to keep the commandments and statutes of the almighty God I am commanding you today for your own good.

Sadly there are some among us who hate the very God who created them. A few months ago I met a YouTuber named godless granny who was in church for over 42 years but now she is resentful towards God, promotes video to oppose Jesus and all he stands for, her heart is far from God, even though she was in church for over 40 years.

It is truly a sad thing to be in the house of the Lord for so many years only to turn against the creator of the universe. Please pray for godless granny.

"Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life” (Proverbs 4:23).

In this verse we are taught to keep our heart with all vigilance for from it flow the springs of life.”

The heart, therefore, is the command center of the soul; the mind, the will, and the affections. It is a high risk, vulnerable place because of sin.

So I encourage you my friends to guard your hearts from evil and sinful thoughts.
