Godliness is Contentment

Godliness is Contentment

“But godliness with contentment is great gain,” 1 Timothy 6:6.

I have been doing major introspections in my life. I want to be Christ-like in not just one aspect of my life but all. I want that which the Lord has placed in me to evident. That Light, that Fire not to be hidden under a bushel but to be placed on a candlestick so as to give light unto all.

Everything that is Godly brings contentment! “If any man teaches otherwise, and consents not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strife of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings. Perverse disputing of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness; from such withdraw thyself, 1 Timothy 6:3-5.

Godliness; real emphasis should be on this because it speaks of the love of God and the willingness to do His will. Contentment then becomes inevitable because the two are inseparable. Contentment is a state of mind. It refers to, being calm, satisfied, a freedom from murmuring and complaining.

Are we content? In what or which aspect of our lives are we not contented? Are we living Godly in those areas? Let us search ourselves today because “Godliness with contentment is great gain.”

God Bless.
