God’s expectation is for us to Multiply by Minister Owen Mitchell

Inspiration

I had a strong conviction to read the book of Exodus, so I began reading, not knowing the Lord had a message for me and Christians at large. He said, “I have a level of expectation for my Church, my children; Because I am with you, there should be no fear found in you.” Amen! “And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them,” Exodus 1:7. This is God’s expectation of us….

Christians are faced with so much, the Bible and our beliefs are irrelevant to society. From immorality, sexuality, pornography, homosexuality, drug addictions, alcoholism, to atheism, everything is thrown in our faces. The truth is, this battle is between light and darkness. As I read on, I realized that the children of Israel just kept on growing and as Pharaoh puts it in vs. 9b, “…. the children of Israel are more mightier than we.”

From vs. 10-14, Pharaoh stepped up his efforts by setting taskmasters over the children of Israel to afflict them vs.11. The Bible said in vs. 13-14, “and the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigour: and made their lives bitter with hard bondage, ….and in all manner of service in the field, all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with rigour.” Vs. 12, “but the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew.”

Irrespective of all that we face in society and in our homes today, the Church is still expected to multiply and grow stronger. You see saints, Pharaoh is a type of satan today and the taskmasters are his workers he has sent out to destroy us and the truth about Christianity. Satan will stop at nothing! But the Bible urges us in 1 Corinthians 15:58 to be, “…. ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

God Bless.
