This should bring us great comfort daily:
God is with us and he will never leave us nor forsake us
Hebrews 13
5 Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said,
“I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”[b]
6 So we can say with confidence,
“The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?
It's may bring many questions to mind that these words would be used in reference to money ....the inference to draw is many of our troubles in our modern day society may stem from financial pressures or relationship problems.
God is saying be content in me because I will take care of you
I will never leave you nor forsake you: This promise from God (from Deuteronomy 31:6) is the foundation for contentment. We can’t count on material things, but we can depend on God and His promise.
Be content with such things as you have: Contentment has much more to do with what you are on the inside rather than what you have.
Sometimes though we may not understand the reason for the fiery trials that we walk through.
I sometimes ask the question - if God could have taken Joseph out of the prison, why did he give him favour in the prison and not just take him out of the prison instead? Only God knows best, somethings we will not understand, but nevertheless we trust God in all.
For further reassurance that story with Joseph in Genesis 37 to 50 ends well and Joseph is able to confidently say Genesis 50:20
20 As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present outcome, that many people would be kept alive [as they are this day]
This is our testimony and will be our continued confession of faith -
All that the enemy means for bad, God will turn around for his glory and we can certainly rest in his everlasting arms for he is WITH US and he will take us through into victory
