We all know that there is just something special about the start of a new year that gives us the feeling of a fresh start and a new beginning.
The most common New Year’s resolutions millions of people make are, to start eating healthy, to start managing money more wisely, to spend more time with family and to exercise more.
These are all good goals to set. However, in first Timothy four and verse eight, the Bible says, "For while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.
The Bible does not speak for or against the concept of New Year’s resolutions but the majority of New Year’s resolutions, among Christians, are in relation to physical things. This should not be so.
If a Christian is determined to make a New Year’s resolution it should be beneficial to God's will and purpose for his and her life and for the advancement of God's coming kingdom.
If God is the center of your New Year’s resolution and you are disciplined and committed to pleasing the almighty God.
Then God will work upon the good intentions of your heart.
God’s resolution for us was made from the beginning and will last forever, this he Prioritized for us because of his everlasting love.
Material things can decay, disappear, and disappoint.
They can be superficial, destroyed and stolen.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. –Romans 8:28
