Welcome again my friends.
Could it be that we walk around with all these unnecessary burdens of self-blame, guilt and condemnation, all because we keep visiting the place of our old mistakes and failings.
If we have truly repented, then why should we not receive God's forgiveness and walk in freedom. Forgiving oneself (Receiving God's forgiveness) is a necessary step of faith we all need to take when we are "Walking good in Christ"
We ALL in Christ, have common ground. We have sinned and fallen short,
We ALL have failed miserably and made mistakes even while in Christ
We ALL have faults and shortcomings that God is perfecting and will be perfecting until the day we die.
Let me just enlighten you a bit more - do you know that "perfectionism" is actually a sinful man-dictated standard. As it comes from a root of pride and a "self righteous" view of oneself. Any leader that requires that you never fail has not yet been perfected in God's love.
Here is how God loves us and shows mercy:
Psalm 103
6 The Lord executes righteousness And justice for all who are oppressed. 7 He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel. 8 The Lord is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. 9 He will not always strive with us, Nor will He keep His anger forever. 10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor punished us according to our iniquities.
11 For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; 12 As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. 13 As a father pities his children, So the Lord pities those who fear Him. 14 For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.
Take it further all these "Man made" titles we wear on this earth and are so proud to wear and use them to keep ourselves in a position "above the rest" we will not wear them in heaven. As the reality is those titles should only define our role in the building of Christs' Kingdom. All our giftings come from God and as such are for God's glory. WE ARE ALL EQUAL AT THE FOOT OF THE CROSS
So start today don't be so hard on yourself - LOVE YOURSELF!
Look in the mirror each day and say these words:
God loves ME
He made me fearfully and wonderfully well.
Marvelous are his works
I repent of all my sins and unrighteousness
Thank you Lord for purifying and sanctifying me
I receive now God’s forgiveness
I renounce and denounce every guilt, condemnation and self blame
I walk in true freedom and liberty
Because of God’s love, grace and mercy.
I am forgiven
Thank you Lord
Amen
Walk good in Christ
Till we meet again
