When we CHOOSE to forgive
We get BETTER not BITTER
God has given us the instruction to forgive
It is always a choice
The enemy though can fool us with all sorts of "halfway theres" like:
"I will forgive but I won't forget" with the measure that we mete out so we will have in return. Imagine if God never forgot our sins. Truth is love keeps no record of wrongs. If we forgive then we also need to let go of the offense. Even if one is abused and God had to move you out of that situation, your healing and restoration begins when you forgive and let go
"That thing doesn't hurt at all, and I have no unforgiveness for that person" and yet we stain that person's character with everyone who will listen to us. God's instruction is we should "Bless our enemies, bless and not curse those who use and persecute us" The word blessing means to "speak well off".
Those are just a few examples, let us ask God to show us the truth of our heart condition and if we have any unforgiveness at all.
It requires grace to forgive and it takes time to be healed of the wound after we forgive, but pretty soon we look back and the "sting" is gone of the thing that wounded us so deeply. This only happens though if we choose to let go, leave it in the hands of God AND move forward.
If we take it to God and say we need help to forgive, let go and ask him for help to do so. God will really help us.
He wants us to be truthful and repentant, he really will help us in that place.
Forgiveness is really about freeing yourself and staying in the place of being in intimate relationship with God.
Forgive!
In Jesus name
Amen
Walk good in christ
Till we meet again
