Does your Armor Fit?
There’s a song written by William McDowell called Stay and in this song, he is reaching out to God saying, I want more, Jesus I want more. Tasha Cobbs also has a song called, fill me up and in it she asks God to, fill me up until I overflow, I want to run over, I want to run over. But, how can God fill us up or give us more when there’s no place to put His more? If we don’t make room for Him, how can he give us more of Himself?
Paul in the book of Ephesians chapter 6, commands us to “put on the full armor of God ….”, vs 11 and he repeats this command in vs 13. My question to you today is, does your armor fit?
The chapter goes on to talk about, the breastplate of righteousness, our feet being shod with the preparation of the gospel. It also speaks of taking the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit. Why, you might ask? The answer is found in vs. 13, “…. That ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” The evil days are now.
For our armor to fit, all the heavy weight we carry around need to be dropped off. Every sin that weighs us down, I pray we lay them aside. Saints of God, the Lord showed me where many times we do not put the armor on properly, making a way for satan to create havoc in our lives. Our loins are not girded with truth but lies, our breastplate is not emulating His righteousness. The gospel of peace is not found in us, our shield is not grounded in faith. Our helmet is tilted to the side exposing half of our head and the sword of the Spirit is not held for battle. Does your armor fit?
God Bless.
