Dear friends
God laid it on my heart this morning to talk about his love.
Let us lay aside every religion every ritual and put everything into the discovery of God's love ie. The discovery of God himself.
Everything about God, his creation, his nature, his character, our being, our living begins on with the foundation of GOD IS LOVE.
I am deeply saddened by the fact that so many go to church Sunday after Sunday, day after day, week after week and never find or know God.
The word KNOW in Hebrew indicates intimacy.
Let me share with you the following adaptation:
The idea of "knowing" in Ancient Hebrew thought is similar to our understanding of knowing but is more personal and intimate. We may say that we "know" someone but simply mean we "know" of his or her existence, but in Hebrew thought, one can only "know" someone if they have a personal and intimate relationship with them. In Genesis 18:19 Elohiym says about Abraham, "I know him" meaning he has a very close relationship with Abraham. In Genesis 4:1 it says that Adam "knew Eve his wife" implying a very intimate relationship.
Amen
Here ends the study adaptation
Let me ask you the question again -
Do you KNOW God?
When one begins to "know" God, they become settled in his love. That love changes one, truly you become "rooted" in his love
Ephesians 3:17
New King James Version
17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, Your life changes because your identity and purpose is then established in him and you live flowing out of that place of his love.
One becomes "unshakeable" as the reason for living is now focused on eternity and the Kingdom. One becomes passionate about the things God is passionate about and truly is concerned about the well-being of mankind - for God so loved THE WORLD that he gave his only begotten son (John 3:16)
Now let's look at some verses about God’s love
1 John 4
7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
Seeing God Through Love
12 No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. 13 By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. 15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. 16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him
Amen
