Topic: Do the word
Scripture: : Matthew 7:24*
[24]“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.
Message for the day: The profit in God's word is not for those who know it but for those who do it.* Our text says anyone who listens and follows it is wise like a house on solid rock. Knowledge without application is not profitable. It is one thing to know what to do and another to actually do it.* Many of us have become scholars of argument, we can argue scriptures but we cannot practice it. *We are more interested in winning arguments than being transformed hy the word.It is the level of transformation in you that proves the efficacy of God's word in you not how many times you have read the bible.* Do the word you know and do the word you preach. Scriptures says blessed are the hearers and doers of the word. *To hear alone is unprofitable, do the word.*
Tthe word works for you as you work with it.* Don't read the scriptures to find what to argue about, read it to find life transforming principles. *Every story and illustration has in it a well of wisdom for making your life better.* Do the word, practice the word. When Jesus was tempted, he kept replying Satan with “it is written”, how well are you equipped with “it is written”. *Don't just know the word, put it to work. The word will work for you as you work with it.*
THINGS YOU NEED TO DO;
1 . Put the word you know to work. Don't just have notes on the word, I know you write every service day, read it until it becomes life to you. Scriptures says the word become flesh and dwelt among them.
2*Study the scriptures enough to become a living epistle. Do the word!
PRAYER;
Father, thank you for grace. Help us be doers of the word. May the word be rooted in us that we may become living epistles in Jesus precious Name
