DO NOT BE AFRAID
We can be afraid or nervous walking into a new chapter of our lives because of the unknown or we may fear certain things, places or situations. However, amidst the fear, God promises never to leave us nor forsake us.
While it is normal for us as humans to worry, it is highly recommended as Christians not to worry but trust God completely.
Why am I blogging about this? Well over the past few weeks I have been worrying and praying more about my offsprings and this changing world.
Coincidentally this morning I received a forwarded text from a friend of mine, it says,
“Don’t feel sorry for, or fear for your kids/grandkids because the world they are going to grow up in is not what it used to be.
God created them and called them for the exact moment in time that they’re in. Their life wasn’t a coincidence or an accident.
Raise them up to know the power they walk in as children of God.
Train them up in the authority of His Word.
Teach them to walk in faith knowing that God is in control.
Empower them to know they can change the world.
Don’t teach them to be fearful and disheartened by the state of the world but hopeful that they can do something about it.
Every person in all of history has been placed in the time that they were in because of God’s sovereign plan.
He knew Daniel could handle the lion's den.
He knew David could handle Goliath.
He knew Esther could handle Haman.
He knew Peter could handle persecution.
He knows that your child can handle whatever challenge they face in their life. He created them specifically for this time and era.”
Over this weekend I learnt that the phrase "do not be afraid" appears in the Bible 365 times, which is once for each day of the year. Some say that this is a daily reminder from God to live fearlessly.
I must say this encouraged me greatly and reminded me of the importance of letting go and letting God handle our difficult situations.
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." (Isaiah 41:10)
May this word edify and encourage you as well, and remember,
“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
Live carefree before God; he is most careful with you.
Casting all your care upon Him, because He cares about you.”
