In matters of judgement Man can be harsh but God does not deal with us as finite men deal with one another.
His thoughts are thoughts of mercy, love, and tender compassion. He says, “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.”
“I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins” (Isaiah 55:7; 44:22).
Men are able to discern only the “outward appearance” (1 Sam. 16:7) and not the heart. Thus men inevitably make mistakes.
We must judge others based on evidence, credible eyewitnesses, tangible proof. We must not judge nor pass judgment upon our brothers or sisters without any concrete proof and solid grounds.
Here is a just reproof to those who quarrel with their brethren for small faults, while they allow themselves in greater ones.
There are two types of judgements.
Firstly, censorious judgement referred to in the sermon on the mount where Jesus described a superficial legalistic fault finding or judgement without proof or evidence.
Secondly, in John chapter seven and verse twenty four Our Lord refers to righteous judgement that is judgement based on God’s biblical moral and standards.
So in Matthew chapter seven verse one to five, the Bible speaks of sinful judgement out of the flesh.
This first type should be avoided.
The second type in John seven is quite legitimate and right in the sight of God.
We pray your heart, mind and body be completely dedicated to God and your desires be submitted and subjected to the spirit of God.
