Defining the Fear of the Lord

Proverbs 9:10 English Standard Version (ESV) 10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.

I was led to do a short exposition on this today:

We see God as a father who wants his children to learn, grow, and apply truth to every aspect of their lives. We need to find conviction. When we have been going down the wrong path, we place a wedge between ourselves and the Father. Conviction opens our eyes to our current situation. It is a chance to turn away and begin anew on the right path. We also need to see repentance. Repentance is the turning away from sin. If we have a healthy dread of the consequences, then we are more likely to repent. This is the beginning of true wisdom.

Believers should fear the consequences of the heavenly Father, therefore leading them to make wise decisions in day-to-day tasks as well as the “big” decisions of life. To enter onto the right path, we must forsake the wrong path. Without the fear of consequence, one cannot get to a right place with God.

Now I am troubled because I see a repetitive cry from God's people daily.

Many just think that they are walking through suffering. Not even realizing that they are walking through the consequences of their choices. God loves us no matter what but it is our own choices that will lead into God's blessing. Those choices that are lined up to God's word supernaturally position and align us with God's perfect not his permissive will.

I hear too many say - "Is just a little sin" or continue walking in their own way in lack of knowledge.

God is the only one who can give us true wisdom, knowledge and understanding and it starts in our relationship with THE REVERENTIAL FEAR OF GOD when we get to the place of repentance

Father God

I ask you to remove any pride from us. We come humbling ourselves before you. Broken. Needing you desperately. We surrender all to you Abbah Father, needing your mercy. Asking you for truth and to search our hearts and show us if there is any wicked way in us. We ask you to lead us in your ways, the ways of everlasting life.

Thank you for sanctifying and purifying our heart and our motives

In Jesus name

Amen

Walk Good in Christ

Till we meet again
