Concerning George Floyd - Justice must be done!

Before going to bed last night I was so disturbed by all I saw happening in the media all around the world. I watched the video of George Floyd’s murder finally and I was repulsed to my stomach. Especially as the police officer had his hand in his pocket, a stance of relaxation as he uncaringly caused the death of another human being. An anger rose up in me and I will certainly vow to pray for Justice to be done.I interceded deeply into falling asleep, knowing God is the only answer in a world churning with one crisis after another.

2020 has started out with a bang – first the COVID 19 pandemic and now the senseless killing by a white police officer of a black man George Floyd. Even in his death he has made a difference for he was one who was a praying brother. I still hold fast to all God has said waiting expectantly. I do not even care to know the police officer/officers names

I am saddened though by the rioting, looting, beatings, violence and more, but truly understand the pent up anger of my people. I too suffer racism in this country I live in and I am sometimes tempted to retaliate, only with a retort though. This George Floyd incident is publicized but do you know how many have suffered injustice and been killed unjustly? Not thousands but millions. Someone recorded this incident and it was publicized and what made it worse, is the response of Government and even the coroner trying to falsify a reason for his death. It seems this is their regular practise, "Cover up, when one of my kind has done wrong". Corruption seems to be the order of the day and permeates many governmental agencies all around the world.

Justice must be done in this situation and I believe yes it is time for a shifting in laws that govern how people are treated all around the world – no one should be treated as a minority because of skin color. But how can justice be brought about? It will not be brought about by violence, killings, lootings or shootings.

Who will that hurt in the long run? Only our own selves.

Let us instead look at the leaders who truly made a difference in history and will be known for all generations and adapt some of these methods of conflict resolution and peaceful protest -

Namely: Rosa Parks

President Nelson Mandela

Dr Martin Luther King Jr.

Mahatma Gandhi

And many more

Have we not learned the lessons well? That war is not the answer.I thought of this quote as I started praying this morning,Let me share it here:

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness;

only light can do that

Hate cannot drive out hate;

only love can do that".

It is a quote by Dr Martin Luther King Jr.

Let us look to where true long term Justice can be found, it is with God and God alone. Yes we need to take some action, but first let us pray, fast and then take a stand. There are many other ways to take action.Let us come to our senses, realizing that war and violence is not the answer and peacefully move out unified as a people with ONE LOVE AND ONE HEART. If we are unified then who can stand against us? If we take a non violent approach and stand together, it can make a difference. I suggest we do a hand to hand hold in cities all over this world. Praying and negotiating. Sign petitions. There are people in the highest offices all over the world, who will be willing to join in these non violent resolutions.

Before we can do this we need to find the peace within ourselves, that peace that comes from relationship with God. Justice must be done but not with violent and forceful haranguing.

Pray for Peace

Pray for Justice

Is not God able to turn this around?He can do the impossible

Trust God for turn around he is our only answer in this world of turmoil

Amen

Walk Good in Christ

My friends

Till we meet again
