Matthew 6:25 to 34 Amplified
25 “Therefore I tell you, stop being worried or anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted) about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, as to what you will wear. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow [seed] nor reap [the harvest] nor gather [the crops] into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they? 27 And who of you by worrying can add one [l]hour to [the length of] his life? 28 And why are you worried about clothes? See how the lilies and wildflowers of the field grow; they do not labor nor do they spin [wool to make clothing], 29 yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory and splendor dressed himself like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive and green today and tomorrow is [cut and] thrown [as fuel] into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! 31 Therefore do not worry or be anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted), saying, ‘What are we going to eat?’ or ‘What are we going to drink?’ or ‘What are we going to wear?’ 32 For the [pagan] Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; [but do not worry,] for your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.
34 “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Worry and anxiety are connected to fear and the truth is once we are giving room to those emotions we are not in Faith and trusting God. However, bear in mind, it is a daily battle, a daily wrestling.
Some days are very good and even when challenged, one just stays in peace and then others are like OMG! Lord help us!
The other thing that doesn't help is sometimes the way we process things and our emotional makeup.
I really have tried to change this area of my personality so much, but then I have accepted myself for being the passionate, emotional person that I am.
I laugh exuberantly, I cry (hardly ever, but it's more like a bawl...lol), I speak loudly when I am getting angry, but nonetheless these days God has really reigned my emotions in and I therefore wait in making decisions and acting at those times. I am able to live the spirit led life while at the same time not stifling my emotions.
What really helps is getting to the place of surrender and realising that those negative emotions are not God’s answer for our situation. Though negative emotions like worry and more may seem to loom so big, let us decide no matter what emotion we are feeling, we will still let God lead. We will choose to get into the place of worship.
That my friends is how we live a lifestyle of Worship and in those times when those negative emotions of worry, anxiety, fear seem to be on the rise.
Let's STOP, say a prayer and begin to Worship God.
Worship changes our very atmosphere around us (the holy angels and the tangible presence of God is evident) and confuses the enemy. Worship positions us for victory
Lord I ask you to help us today and everyday. No matter what we face help us to truly lead the spirit filled and spirit led life.
We choose to keep our eyes fixed and focused on you.
We CHOOSE TO WORSHIP INSTEAD OF WORRYING
In Jesus name
Amen
Walk Good in Christ
Till we meet again
