“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life,” John 3:16. God’s blanket of love! As I exited the prayer group, the feeling of a blanket came over me. A blanket that signifies God’s ability to supply all our needs.
A group of us went into war for our children today, based on our experiences with them and us wanting God’s best for them. With all the influences that the enemy has set up round and about them, we have to be very firm and vigilant in prayer.
The word blanket came to my mind very strongly and I pondered it, then the thought of God’s love enveloped me. Which led me to the story in 2 Kings 4:32-35, about the Shunamite woman’s son. A story many of us know but I saw it in a different light. God showed me where our children are dead because of the sins of this world, but He has come to give us life and not just life but infinite life. The word in verse 34 spoke of Elisha laying on the woman’s son and stretched himself upon him. Elisha “…. put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: ….” Meaning, God’s grace is able to meet you anywhere we have a need and He has the ability to bring to life every dead situation our children face.
What a Mighty God we serve! The Bible tells us that Elisha stretched himself upon the boy twice. The first time he felt the child wax warm vs. 34 but in vs. 35 when he stretched the second time, “the child sneezed seven time, and the child opened his eyes.” In Biblical numerology the number 7 means completeness, so the 7 sneezes signifies completion, it is finish. Note, Elisha never gave up after the first time, he prayed and went in again. Whatever situation we or our children have found ourselves in, pray until our breakthrough comes.
God Bless.
