Biblical Numerology – 6
Biblical numerology is defined as the study of individual numbers in Scriptures. It relates practically to the biblical meaning of numbers, both literal and symbolic. Understanding the significance of numbers and its use in the Bible, will reveal God’s awesomeness.
While listening to a message a friend left me, the number 6 became my main focus. She said, while listening to your message, the Lord told me to read Psalm 53, 6 times. I became curious as to the significance of the number 6. I turn to Psalm 53, only to see that it has 6 verses. “The fool has said in his heart, there is no God, corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good,” verse 1. The heart of men is made obvious by our actions. What we feel in our hearts, translates in us doing good or bad.
The number 6 represents imperfection, doubt and weakness in humans. It is closely associated with evil temptation and disbelief. Humanity without God is believed to have a system of life which is powered by religion, economy and government, which undoubtedly is guided by satan.
“The fool has said in his heart, ….,” how many times have we doubted God? How many times have we taken matters into our own hands without consulting with God? How many times have we prayed, asking God to intervene into a situation, then turn around and try to correct it ourselves. Are we truly acting in faith?
I pray today we will lean more to the side of doing good which is governed by God.
God Bless.
