Are we United? by Minister Owen Mitchell

Inspiration

Are we Unified?

Unity is a state of being in oneness; harmony, conjunction, agreement, uniformity or in sync.

“And they shall eat the flesh in the night, roasted with fire, and unleavened bread: and with bitter herbs they shall eat,” Exodus 12:8. Eating In the night, meant, a new beginning. Roasted with fire denotes, the suffering of Christ Jesus on the cross, also how our hearts should be inflamed with love for Him. Unleavened bread, typifies the putting away of all defilement and corruption. Bitter herbs, represents self-denial and repentance. This event is associated with the Passover which was done by the Israelites before their Exodus from Egypt.

With so much happening around us today, my call is for us Christians to be united. “That they all be one: as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also be one in us ….,” John 17:21.

What would be the outcome of us being unified? When I was given this scripture, I researched it, meditated on it, while trying to figure out its meaning. I realized how important the need for unity is. The scripture in Exodus 12 states, “and they shall”. They shall remember the suffering of Jesus on the cross together. They will love Him together and they will put away everything that will cause division together. Are we unified? “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity,” Psalm 133:1.

God Bless.
