An Investment with Benefits
I am in total amazement of God. The words and phrases He uses to teach us of who He is leaves me in awe. Take investment as an example. An investment is an asset or item acquired with the goal of generating income or appreciation. In an economic sense, an investment Is the purchase of goods that are not consumed today but are used in the future to create wealth. In finance, an investment is a monetary asset purchased with the idea that the asset will provide income in the future or will later be sold at a higher price to make a profit,
Benefits on the other hand is an advantage or profit gained from something. When we tie these two words together, we realize, every investment carries benefits. Who or what are you invested in. What are the benefits associated to your investment? God is saying to us, apply this principle to Christianity.
God wants us to invest our everything in Him. The story is told in Luke 21 of rich men casting gifts in the treasury and a poor widow casting in two mites. Jesus said in verse 3-4, “…. this poor widow has cast in more than they all. For all these of their abundance cast unto the offering of God but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.” They are benefits in God when we give Him our all.
“But this I say; he who soweth sparingly will also reap sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap bountifully,” 2 Corinthians 9:6. Is your all invested in God?
