An awakening about Christmas

Dear friends

Good morning, good day, good season.

Honestly I have heard so many people debate about Christmas this year more than any other year.

My thoughts on this matter is simply if there is an opportunity to share God's love with "the world" without restriction or debate, then why shouldn't we?

These individuals have "suddenly" come into the knowledge of where the Christmas tradition originated. Knowledge that many of us have had for many years. I want to know why condemn others NOW? The same grace that applied to you when you lacked knowledge on the matter is the same grace that applies to others now.

Why spew anger and hatred on those who chose to pour out love? I should hope though it is not the only time we should choose to shower God's love, may we shower God’s love all throughout the year and throughout our lifetime.

I relish this time for year for spending time with my children, family members and great friends. I will not miss a moment of fellowship with them in arguments over religious dogma.

That kind of behaviour stems from a religious Spirit - which brings about bondage in one's life.

Where I was yesterday, I had Christmas dinner with my Daughter's fiancée's family and relished the opportunity to share with someone the fact that they don’t have to stay depressed because of menopause and another some health tips for dealing with high blood pressure. The covenant of health and healing through Christ Jesus were clearly outlined. Now what if I had spent time instead "stewing" at home about these "dumb" Christians celebrating Christmas.

Look again friends certainly a word with CHRIST in it is a good way for glorifying God.

I started a new tradition this year and I will definitely continue to do this: C-H-R-I-S-T is spelled in big and bold letters and so this is how I will spell and live this season (for CHRIST)

CHRISTmas.

We can certainly in any given situation, with any tradition find a way to glorify God.

Let's just continue throughout the year to give God glory whereever we go, with whomever we make contact with in short at all times.

I end with these words

1 Corinthians 10:27 - 31

27 If any of those who do not believe invites you to dinner, and you desire to go, eat whatever is set before you, asking no question for conscience’ sake. 28 But if anyone says to you, “This was offered to idols,” do not eat it for the sake of the one who told you, and for conscience’ sake; [i]for “the earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness.” 29 “Conscience,” I say, not your own, but that of the other. For why is my liberty judged by another man’s conscience? 30 But if I partake with thanks, why am I evil spoken of for the food over which I give thanks?

31 Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 32 Give no offense, either to the Jews or to the Greeks or to the church of God, 33 just as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

Amen

Walk good in Christ

Till we meet again

Pastor J
