After Death

No one wants to die, in this temporary world we only pass this way once in a lifetime. We cannot return or change our actions or deeds from the past.

"It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment" (Hebrew 9:27)

I have conducted many funeral services however several years ago I did one for a day old baby.

It was the most memorable and difficult funeral I have ever experienced.

The first time mother wept and rolled, it was heart rending.

The child had survived breech birth with the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck, after delivery the baby was blue in the face. Several doctor assisted and finally the baby overcame.

Unfortunately for reasons unknown, within 24 hours, the mother and child were discharged from hospital. On the way home a police officer chasing a speeding car, ran into the back of the car the new mother was driving in and the baby was ejected through the windshield glass.

As I stood before this tiny coffin it was woeful with many tears.

Death is not the end though.

Our body dies but the soul and spirit lives forever.

The Holy Bible gives hope for all who believe and are saved through the works of Jesus Christ; He is the resurrection and the life.

"Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?"

(1 Cor.15:52-55)

The above scriptures are for those who believe that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through Jesus Christ.

The good news of Jesus Christ is a great light and a beacon of hope for the weary in a dark world of sorrow, sickness, death and decay.

There is rest and peace for all who come to Jesus to lay down their burdens and disappointment in this temporary world.

There is only one way to the glory and splendor of everlasting life and it is through Jesus Christ.
