Dearly Beloved
These words of wisdom we should think on carefully. God wants all our heart so we need to carefully guard what we allow in and to flow out of it.
Proverbs 4:23 says, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” These words of wisdom from King Solomon emphasize the importance of protecting our innermost being. Our heart is the source of our thoughts, attitudes, beliefs, and actions. Therefore, it is crucial to guard our hearts above all else.
The heart is a powerful force that drives our actions and influences our thinking and behavior. It can either lead us down a path of righteousness or a path of destruction. Our hearts are susceptible to sinful thoughts, attitudes, and beliefs. Hence, we must be mindful of what we allow into our hearts; everything we do flows from it.
Guarding our hearts is about protecting ourselves from external and internal factors. We must be mindful of the things we think about, the things we set our affection on, and the things we give our attention to
Think on this what we think on and focus on does become reality
Scientific studies prove this as science does evidence all God spoke of long ago in his written word.
Dearly beloved what we take in goes through a process.
We "take in" by what we look at and what we listen to. After this we then begin to think based on those impulses and then it takes root in our heart and finally when it takes root in our heart we begin to regurgitate in our thoughts, speaking and actions.
The thoughts the thoughts the thoughts!
The sources of the thoughts can be from God, from the enemy and from our own selves.
Let us not fool ourselves into thinking that ALL our thoughts will be God given no matter where you grow to in God. We all will wrestle at some time or another.
It's just that as we mature in Christ and hide God's word in our heart we will be able to discern the source of the thoughts and take authority over what is not the truth.
Dearly beloved it is in the "thought" sifting and processing that we begin to guard our hearts
Let us think on these things:
Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things” (Philippians 4:8).
Meditating on God's word really helps - Psalm 1 clearly gives us the benefits of doing so.
We should also take our thoughts captive to the obedience of Christ daily and declare that we have the mind of Christ and hold the thoughts and feelings of Christ.
What we have in our hearts is evidenced by our outflow - our relationship with God, our fruit bearing and our relationship with others.
Perhaps we need to make some changes today because certain patterns seem to govern our life. These patterns (fruit bearing) may actually be a result of something in our heart that requires God's purging.
I pray God will reveal the true condition of our heart today, to take away everything that would block the outflow of his Spirit and power.
Create in us clean hearts and renew right Spirits within us Lord we ask you
in Jesus name
